Exporting your Google Data for migration to another service or another Google account is easy and takes only a couple of minutes to do thanks to Google Takeout. The process of choosing what to export is very quick, however, the data itself can take a few hours to prepare before it is sent to you in an archive file format. This is normal - so don't panic if you don't immediately receive your data once you've completed a Takeout request.
- Navigate to takeout.google.com
- Select the checkboxes to the right of any data you would like to export. By default, everything except "Access Log Activity" will be checked.
- We recommend leaving "Access Log Activity" unchecked when exporting other data. If you have a reason to export this data, you can perform a separate Takeout request after your initial export.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Next Step"
- Leave all settings at their defaults and then click, "Create Export"
- You will see this message, "Google is creating a copy of files from x products
This process can take a long time (possibly hours or days) to complete. You'll receive an email when your export is done." and you'll find an email with links to the Takeout files in your email once the export is complete.
